Press Release: SDP/HICDP Committee meeting held on 29th April 2019 in Thimphu

The 1st Bhutan-India Small Development Project/ High Impact Community Development Project Committee (SDP/HICDP) meeting was held on 29th April 2019 at Thimphu. Shri R. Gaurav Shresth, Deputy Chief of Mission, Embassy of India, Thimphu led the Indian delegation Mr. Sonam Tobgay, Director, Department of Bilateral Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Thimphu led the Bhutanese delegation.

The total committed GoI assistance for Small Development Project/High Impact Community Development Project (SDP/HICDP) under 12thFYPis Rs. 850 crore. The Committee approved 149 projects amounting to Rs. 197.060 crore under the 1st batch of SDP/HICDP. Construction of permanent structures for Farm Roads, irrigation channels, water supply, farm roads and Basic Health Units are some of the major projects approved under the 1st batch of 12FYP SDP/HICDP.

The leader of Bhutanese delegation conveyed appreciation and thanks of the people and the Royal Government of Bhutan to the people and Government of India for its continued support for Bhutan’s socio – economic development.
