AMBASSADOR’S SCHOLARSHIP FOR SELF-FINANCING STUDENTS

The Ambassador’s scholarship was initiated in 2001. During the visit of President of India to Bhutan in November, 2014, the Ambassador’s scholarship amount was increased to Rs. 2 crores.  This amount was further increased to Rs. 4 crores in 2018. Every year, this Mission receives more than 1,000 application forms directly from interested students. The Scholarship is awarded to meritorious and deserving Bhutanese students who are already undergoing undergraduate level courses in various recognized institutes in India after completing their schooling in Bhutan on self-financing basis.  Approx. 9,000 Bhutanese students have benefited from this scheme since 2011.
