     The Nehru-Wangchuck Cultural Centre (NWCC) was inaugurated as a part of the Cultural Wing of the Embassy of India, in collaboration with the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) and the Government of India (GOI). The Centre was inaugurated by Dr. Karan Singh, then President of the ICCR, Government of India and Lyonpo Minjur Dorji, Former Minister of Home and Cultural Affairs, Royal Government of Bhutan (RGOB) on 21st Sept, 2010.

Yoga Classes       

     The Centre has commenced regular classes of yoga as per the following schedule. The classes are being conducted by Dr. Vijay Kumar Singh, a highly qualified yoga teacher holding a doctoral degree in Department of Yogic Sciences and Human consciousness.

Monday to Friday

Session 1: 08:45 am to 09:45 am

Session 2: 10:00 am to 11:00 am

Session 3: 04:15 pm to 05:15 pm

Session 4: 05:30 pm to 06:30 pm

Saturday

Master yoga class (08:00 am to 09:30 am)

Library

     The library of the NWCC has well stocked collections of over 6000 books, covering a wide spectrum of subjects such as religion, art and culture, history, political affairs, and fiction for use by the general public. The library, with its inviting ambiance and unwavering commitment to knowledge and community, is a cherished spot for booklovers.

Lounge Room

     The lounge room is an ideal setting to read and relax.

Music Classes

     The Nehru-Wangchuck Cultural Centre has a professional teacher from India who conducts classes on Indian classical music instruments like Tabla, Harmonium and Indian vocal like classical vocal and semi classical vocal.  The classes are being conducted by Dr. Vivek Karmahe, one of the foremost classical vocalists of the Gwalior Gharana and has been a strong force in its growing recognition, popularity and resurgence, all over India & worldwide.The schedule of classes is as follows:

Monday to Friday

Session 1: 10:00 am to 11:00 am

Session 2: 11:00 am to 12:00 pm

Session 3: 12:00 pm to 01:00 pm

Session 4: 03:30 pm to 04:30 pm

Session 5: 04:30 pm to 05:30 pm

Session 6: 05:30 pm to 06:30 pm

Saturday

Special Class 11:00 am to 01:00 pm

Multi-purpose Hall

     The Centre has a multi-purpose hall equipped with state of art acoustics, which can be utilized for regular programmes and activities both from India and Bhutan. The multipurpose hall has a stage for performance like dance, music and bands and other cultural programs. The hall is also available for conducting seminars, talks, book launches and any other suitable activity.
