Subject: Online Hindi Classes for Bhutanese Officials and Tour Guides

The Embassy of India, Thimphu is delighted to announce that in collaboration with the Indian Council for Cultural Relations and on the special request of the Royal Government of Bhutan, Hindi classes for the officials of the Tourism Council Board will begin on September 20, 2021.

The Hindi classes will be conducted virtually by the Mahatma Gandhi Antarrashtriya Hindi Vishvavidyalaya, Wardha, a premier institution in India established for the promotion and development of the Hindi language through teaching and research. The program is an intensive 4 week program with 03 sessions of 90 minutes each on weekdays. The program will enhance the language skills of the participants and will equip them to read and write Hindi with ease.

The Embassy of India hopes that this unique initiative will foster further cultural understanding between our two friendly countries. The initiative will also aid Bhutanese officials, particularly the Tour Guides and the Tour Operators, in their official dealings as Indians constitute the largest number of regional tourists to visit Bhutan.
